July will start off with a bang along with a variety of 4th of July activities.
The Historic Ninth Street Hill Neighborhood Association’s Festooned Fourth Flag Displayfeaturing over 600 flags, fans, streamers and buntingwill be on display through July 6th. Fireworks and The Stars & Stripes Concert will take place starting at 7 pm on July 4th at Slayter Center Hill!
July 5th & 6th, Historic Prophetstown will have a Threshing Show The wheat is brought in from the fields and put into the threshing machine where the seed is separated from the shaft. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Downtown Farmers' Market - On July 12th will have the regular resh garden vegetables, fruits, flowers, baked goods, honey, jams and jellies and crafts. Celebration Day with Dulcimers playing from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., Scott Greeson from 9:00 to 12:00 (Noon). Kiwanis - Peanut Day with clowns entertaining along with balloon art and face painting from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Also free corn on the cob and other activities TBA. 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Riverfest at Tapawingo Park on July 12th - Boat races on the Wabash River, craft booths, entertainment and food. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and that evening you can Mosey Down Main Street, with Downtown Main Street closed to vehicular traffic between 6th & 9th Streets and 9th to 11th Streets to allow merchants to sell their products outside and musician and other artists to put their talents on display - 6:00 p.m. to Midnight.
Dancing in the Streets on July 19th at Riehle Plaza and Tapawingo Park, 50s and 60s themed event featuring live music, classic car cruise, food, beer and wine. 4:00 p.m. to Midnight.
The Steam & Gas Power Show at the Tippecanoe Ampitheater on July 25th-27th
The Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair at the county fairgrounds from July 19th through 26th
Remember Thursday nights, starting at 7:30 pm at Riehle Plaza are the Lafayette Citizens Band Concerts. Farmers Markets are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in downtown Lafayette and every Wednesday at Cumberland Park in West Lafayette. The free Tour the Town Trolley provides guided tours every Saturday morning at 9:40 and 10:40 across from the downtown Farmers Market at the corner of 5yh and Main Streets.
